Moles

Moles are common skin growths that can form anywhere on the body. Moles are comprised of clusters of skin cells and usually appear when we are young, though some may appear later in life. Most moles are completely harmless; however, some moles are a risk factor for melanoma, which can be a life-threatening form of skin cancer. Large numbers of moles on the body can indicate a higher risk for melanoma. Moles that begin to change in size, shape and color should be checked by a dermatologist as these signs can be an indication of skin cancer.  The best way to be sure your skin stays healthy is with regular skin exams.
